Description

A tough, fast curing, non-slip, aliphatic polyurethane coating designed for protection of ULTRAURE™ A-80 membrane, CHEMSPRAY™ and GCP polyurethane membrane systems in all exposed conditions. ULTRAURE™ A-80 Non-Slip Topcoat is UV resistant and provides a durable, non-slip trafficable finish to roof and deck areas.

Product Advantages

  • Simple application, easy to use and fast cure
  • UV Resistant and foot trafficable
  • Fast Cure – Quick access for trades
  • Permanently flexible – total adhesion
  • Fast development of rain damage resistance
  • Good resistance to many chemicals and fuels
  • May be line marked with compatible paints

Uses

ULTRAURE™ A-80 Non-Slip Topcoat is a colour-fast, non-slip surface to ULTRAURE™ A-80 trafficable membrane, CHEMSPRAY™ elastomers, GCP polyurethanes on exposed car-parks, plant rooms, roofs, box-gutters, balconies, terraces, etc. It may be used as a stand-alone durable finish on walkways, steps, ramps, etc., as a functional, decorative, colour-fast protective coating, in exposed external situations.

Preparation

Surface of ULTRAURE™ A-80 membrane must be clean and dry. For other substrates, prepare to remove dirt, dust, laitance and other contaminants. Prime surface with AQUAGARD™ M Clear Primer to fully seal surface.

Application

First, mix Resin to incorporate non-slip additive, then add Hardener component. Blend carefully with electric mixer.

Mix full 18kg sets. If small quantity is needed mix ratio is Resin:Hardener by weight 5:1. Use a clean dry container.

Apply in two coats by brush or roller – apply second coat in cross direction to the first to give a uniform finish.

For spraying use a single wet-on-wet spray application.

Do NOT use mixed product once it has become thick and begin to gel. It must be discarded. Do NOT add solvent.

Typical Properties

Tensile Strength (AS1145) 2 MPa
UV Resistance (System) Excellent
Slip Resistance (Topcoat only) Pendulum = X; Ramp= R10

NOTE

When applied correctly, this product achieves the slip-resistance ratings shown in the table above. Where confirmation of slip rating achieved on each installation is required, this shall be tested on-site by a suitably qualified third party testing authority, at the builder/ applicator’s expense.

Greater slip ratings may be achieved by applying appropriate anti- slip aggregate to a thin ULTRAURE™ A-80 membrane application, followed by topcoat application. Again, achieved slip-rating is to be tested by a third party authority where confirmation of slip-rating is required.

Coverage

ULTRAURE™ A-80 Non-Slip Topcoat – minimum 0.3kg/m² (min 0.15mm Dry Film Thickness (DFT)). Apply in two coats at cross- directions.

Packaging

ULTRAURE™ A-80 Non-Slip Topcoat Resin – 15 kg pails ULTRAURE™ A-80 Hardener – 3 kg cans

Clean-up

Use MULTITEK™ Xylene before curing. Exercise care when using solvent, review all Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) before use.
